1. How to Enter:
The contest ends at 11:59:59 p.m. EST on April 7, 2025 ("Promotion Period"). The Black Dog's computer will be the official time clock.

2. Eligibility:
a. Open to legal residents of the 50 U.S. states and D.C. who are the age of majority in their state as of the start of the Promotion. Entrants must have the legal right to grant The Black Dog permission to use their photo or social media handle, and obtain written permission from any third parties depicted.
b. Employees, directors, and immediate family members of The Black Dog Tavern Company, Inc. (“Sponsor”) and its affiliates are not eligible to win.

3. Winner Selection:
One winner will be randomly selected by a panel of judges based on the following criteria:

  • Follow @juliablanter

  • Tag your favorite cooking buddy in the comments!

The judges' decisions are final. Winners will be notified by Direct Message by @theblackdogmv within 4 days after the Promotion ends.

4. Prizes & Retail Value:
If any photos are shared, they may be used in future Black Dog emails and promotions.

Release and License Agreement
By entering the contest, I grant The Black Dog and its agents the right to use any photos, images, names, testimonials, or other submitted content ("Authorized Material") for commercial, promotional, or educational purposes, including but not limited to advertising and marketing. This includes the right to modify, edit, publish, and distribute the Authorized Material, in any media now or in the future.
I certify that I have the written consent from all other identifiable individuals (and pets) in the photo for their likeness to be used. I understand that The Black Dog may require proof of such consent before using the material. I release The Black Dog from any claims related to the use of the Authorized Material, including without limitation, any further compensation.

We opened the doors to our Black Dog Tavern on January 1st, 1971. What other exciting things were happening in 1971? We did some digging and found these fun facts about that year!

🐾 117 dog breeds were recognized by the AKC 🐾 The poodle was the most popular dog in 1971, and was for 22 years 🐾 Dog ownerships have tripled since 1970s 🐾 Dog food was around 20 cents a bag!🐾 David Leavitt set out to create an English Bulldog that was less intense, more nimble and healthier. Crossing the Bulldog, American Pit Bull Terrier, Bullmastiff and the American Bulldog, Mr. leavitt managed to create today's Olde English Bulldogge.
