Like most people, we view the new year as a time to turn the page and look forward to what’s in store for the coming year – hopefulness for plans already in motion and anticipation for the unknown. For us, 2023 is a year filled with much promise and many exciting things to look forward to.
If you are anything like us, once the holiday mayhem is over and grayness of winter settles in, we begin to crave a boost of color. Thankfully, our 2023 iconic classic tees, drenched in bright and bold hues like Crimson, Spring Green, and Seafaring Blue are just what the doctor ordered – an instant mood boost! Our new tees hit the stores on New Year’s Day and this colorful trend will continue in our other classics – crewneck sweatshirts, long sleeve tees, and hoodies – as we roll them out later in the season.
In addition to our latest color upgrades, we have some exciting news on the brick-and-mortar front. Over the holidays, we had a soft opening at our newest General Store located in
Kennebunkport, Maine. Feedback from visitors and locals alike was enthusiastically positive. We anticipate being fully staffed in spring 2023 and are excited to bring The Black Dog to this quaint seaside town.
We are also giving our
Black Dog Bakery Café on State Road in Vineyard Haven a much-needed facelift. This refresh includes a fun new breakfast bar, a streamlined layout and a revamped menu featuring fresh breakfast and lunch fare along with old favorites like our super-sinful Black Out Cake. We anticipate reopening in early spring and look forward to welcoming back island locals and visitors to our improved indoor space and tranquil outdoor patio.
Lastly, the month of March will mark an enduring bi-annual initiative that is near to our heart – Doggie Adoption Month. Each of our Black Dog General Store locations will host this event, which not only raises money for local animal shelters by donating 20% of in-store sales made on the day of the event to their community animal shelter, but also pairs shelter pups with “furever” families. To date, we’ve raised over $200,000 for our local animal shelter partners and have helped find homes for hundreds of shelter dogs. This year, we hope participation will be higher than ever and look forward to sharing in the happiness that the bond between a dog and family can bring.
Here’s to a bold and bright 2023!
Woof!
