At The Black Dog, we are committed to quality. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed. Return anything purchased from us, at any time, if you are not 100% satisfied.

Whether you purchased your item by mail, phone, theblackdog.com or at one of our stores, we are happy to accept returns through our Order Processing Center. Please download the below Black Dog Return/Exchange Form and mail to the address on the top of that page.

Within 60 days of original purchase: The Black Dog gladly accepts returns of unworn, unwashed, or defective merchandise at our Stores or our Order Processing Center for a full refund. Refunds must be accompanied by the original receipt. Refunds issued at our stores will be made in the form of the original payment. If the original receipt is unavailable we'll refund or make an exchange or issue a merchandise credit based on the current selling price.

After 60 days of original purchase: With Receipt: The Black Dog will gladly issue an exchange, merchandise credit or refund based on the original sale price. With Out Receipt: TBD will issue only an exchange or merchandise credit for the current selling price through our Order Processing Center. Please call 1-800-626-1991 anytime for further questions or concerns.

Return Internet or Catalog Orders

The Black Dog will gladly refund, make an exchange or issue a merchandise credit for the price at the time of sale (with original receipt) or for the current selling price (without original receipt) through our Order Processing Center. The Black Dog is not responsible for shipping costs of Returns/Exchanges. If the item is damaged/defective, we will gladly issue a prepaid label for you.

Damaged Items

The Black Dog will gladly replace any damaged, defective or broken items upon receiving your shipment, with the order number available. If this is a breakable item, you may email a PDF to us and we will be happy to ship a replacement for you. For damaged or defective products, The Black Dog will email a Prepaid Return Label or Issue a call tag to retrieve the item, where we will exchange it upon receiving.

Returns or Exchanges by Mail (from the US)

  • 1. Complete the Return/Exchange Form (available to download at bottom of page).
  • 2. Secure your merchandise in the original packaging, if available, and enclose the completed form.
  • 3. Return the item(s) to us , mailed to the address listed below and on our Black Dog Return/Exchange Form. Please Note: The Black Dog is NOT responsible for the shipping cost of an item returned to us due to a size or color issue. If the item is damaged/defective, we will gladly issue a prepaid label for you.TBD will gladly ship out the exchanged item free of shipping charges.
  • 4. The Black Dog generally takes 2 weeks to process returns, exchanges or credits. Please email morgans@theblackdog.com if you have immediate questions or concerns. 

*Customers who would like to receive an email statement when we receive your return, must fill out your email address on the Return Order Form and send it in with your product. We will notify you upon receiving product so you will know when to expect your exchange item or when your credit will be issued.

The Black Dog Sale Events

Customers who purchase items at our Black Dog Sale Events, such as our annual warehouse sale, summer celebration event, customer appreciation event and all others where products are RED-DOTTED, please note these are final sales. The Black Dog will not accept returns or exchanges for these items. Red-dotted merchandise is sold as is, all sales final.

The Black Dog Returns Policy for Bakery Products

All sales are Final on perishable goods

The Black Dog is not responsible for damage or loss as a result of shipments being undeliverable. Shipping/handling charges are not refundable. (This includes any shipping surcharge required to deliver perishable items). Damaged or spoiled perishable products will be refunded to the originating credit card.

No Refund Policy - As our products are perishable, all food sales are final. The Black Dog will be happy to replace any item(s) in the unlikely event that they might be damaged or spoiled during transit, or to refund you the full amount of your purchase. To make sure that you are satisfied with the product you receive, please inspect the contents as soon as your order arrives. Any discrepancy with your order must be brought to our attention within 24 hours of receipt of goods. Because our bakery products are perishable items, we do not accept returns/refunds on unwanted product. You may email us at info@theblackdog.com or by phone at 1.800.626.1991 so that we may assist you with any problem or discrepancies.

**We reserve the right to amend or modify these policies including the price of items and/or the cost of shipping without prior notification.**
